About Us
Michael Levy
Keyboards & Vocals:
Michael Levy, Keyboards and vocals: Michael Levy was first introduced to music by the humming and strumming of good ‘ol cowboy songs played by his Dad on an old Fender acoustic. Every weekend, Michael would play 45s at his grandparent’s apartment in Manhattan and spent his childhood listening to Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Roy Orbison, The Drifters, The Beatles and many other artists that recorded during the 50’s & 60’s. When he was 6, he began tinkering around on a 1928 Waters upright piano, which he still owns today. Although classically trained, Sonny has explored many different styles and forms of music including classical, folk, rock and jazz but has gravitated toward the blues where it is evident that he shines as a preeminent pianist, organist and vocalist. He has performed all over New York City and has recorded professionally with Under Capricorn, The Sammy Bones Conspiracy and Raunch. Michael currently resides in Tampa, Florida with his wife and three children. Always up for a jam, he continues to promote the importance of music and the role it plays in our daily lives.
Jordan Adams
Saxophone & Vocals:
I am enjoying the heck out of being part of Herding Cats.
Originally, an idea to play some music in a garage once in awhile, Herding Cats has morphed into a global movement. OK, maybe global movement is a bit of a stretch but it is safe to say it has become quite a bit more than any of us had anticipated. After all, it makes absolutely no sense that six guys with families and hectic careers are even attempting anything like this. I’m glad we are.In recent H.C. news, President Obama’s Secretary of Arts and Humanities has commissioned us. We will be performing at a significant amount of White House receptions this year. No? OK another slight stretch. We did play at the Waterchase Club House St Pat’s Party however and it was a blast. We are still open to the possibility of a call from the big guy and will “suit up” if our country needs us. In the mean time, I cannot wait to play some more gigs with this band at any size event. These guys are great musicians and this is incredibly fun! When not making offensive noises with brass tubing, I am relaxing with my two favorite girls: Mommy Corinne and Baby Hailey.~Jordan Adams
Pete Rossi
Lead Guitar:
Born and raise in The Bronx started playing guitar in HS. First band: The Extension of Time. Played at all those Friday night dances around the Bronx and USO locations in Manhattan. Went to more battles of the bands than I care to mention. Had to take time out to see Jimmy Hendrix at Hunter College in NY and of course Credence Clearwater revival at the Fillmore East. Next band was Serenity . Played all over Florida had a chick drummer and chick keyboard player...pretty cool... also had sax and flute, played allot of Chicago tunes. Now with the Cats....serious talent with this outfit glad to be a part of an awesome band.
George Hanlon
Bass Guitar & Vocals:
Born in Dubuque Iowa, George is the newest member of the band, and continues to bring new meaning to the phrase. "Hey I'm new at this" George got his first guitar at the age of eight. (A stella acoustic for only eight dollars).
George has played with Sagebrush, West wind, The Hanlon Brothers, and The Spaghetti Shoes Band. George has also performed as a juggler, stilt-walker, slack rope-walker, fire-eater, as Georgo the clown. Currently more known for his acoustic guitar abilities as singer/songwriter, George was surprised to receive and email from Jordan, (a total stranger at the time) suggesting that he would be a good fit as the bass player of the band. George now sees the wisdom within that thought.
Steve Caddick
Percussion / Drums:
Born in 1978 in the windy city, Chicago IL. Grew up the first half of my life there, then from about 12 years old on we moved to Orlando, FL where I went to Oviedo High School, followed by the University of Central Florida where I obtained my first degree in Molecular and Microbiology. Then I moved to Atlanta (Hotlanta) for the next 4 years where I went to Mercer University and obtained my Doctor of Pharmacy degree (registered pharmacist). Also in Atlanta, I met my wife and we have been married since 2003. Musically, I started in 5th grade with private percussion lessons from a gentleman who now has played for the past 3 presidents as a part of United States Air Force Band in Washington DC, because of that I was only able to have lessons through him for one year. However he turned me on to one of the best musical experiences I have ever had.
Starting in 6th grade I tried out for the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra (FSYO - http://www.fsyo.org/) and turned out to play with them until 12th grade (7 great years). Besides that, from 6th - 12th grade I played in everything from concert band, symphonic band, jazz band and marching band where I played center snare for all 4 years. I have also played in competition marching bands. FSYO took me all over the world and gave be some of the best life experiences and classical training. The next 8 years for life unfortunately where less drums / percussion and much more intense school (not all nerd, plenty of party, drinking and stupidity goes along with 8 years in college!). However I have now been married and settled in this house since 2003/2004, just 2 years ago got the Roland TD-20 electronic drums and started back up again.
It feels great to play again. I own two local business, Westchase Compounding Pharmacy (www.westchasepharmacy.com) and also Westchase Physical Therapy & Medical Supply (www.westchasetherapy.com) - by this summer will be one business under one giant 6000 s.f roof - very exciting. It's great to be a Herding Cat and playing drums! The next best part of my life is introducing my first son - Maxwell (Max) Xavier Caddick.
